End of Preschool Program

At Adley’s preschool they do a “graduation” for the kids moving on to kindergarten.  Adley still has another year of preschool, but all the kids participated in the program.
DSC00054Adley kind of sang along.  She is a bit reserved on stage.  :-)

Just click on the corner arrows to make it full screen.  Not the greatest video quality.  :-)

Awana Ceremony

The girls had a great year with Awanas.  It was Adley’s first year and she enjoyed her time in Cubbies.  Jaylyn loves for her team to win game time and has done a great job pushing herself to learn lots of Bible verses.  Sometimes she is even sweet enough to purchase gifts at the Awana store for her sisters with her points.  Here are a couple pics from  their award ceremony.

Turning Two Makes Her Giggle

I woke up this morning to hear TJ singing “Happy Birthday” to Leighton who was still in her crib.  Then I heard the giggling.  :-)  TJ asked her if it was her birthday and she declared her silly, “Noooooooo!”  (This is a very silly “no” with lots of smiles).  TJ continued, “are you two?”  and the response. . . “Nooooooo!”  She continued these “no’s” all day.  :-)  And every time one of us sang to her, you heard giggles.

Her sisters were very anxious to get her started with presents and all the birthday treats they could think of.  Cousin Malaine was over yesterday and made her an Elmo paper bag puppet.  They let her open that right away.  :-)

What other thing would a giggly two year old Leighton want to do right away??  “Mommy, watch Elmo??”  Of course!!

We had the perfect birthday dress from Nana and as soon as I showed it to her to wear she squealed with delight and kicked off Adley’s flip flops as fast as she could.  :-)

Here she is with her cupcake dress and her rain boots she ran to put on after she got her dress on.

DSC_0117What did you just say about my outfit?

“Here is Elmo!”

DSC_0126“Elmo funny!”

DSC_0128Jaylyn got a good close-up with the camera.  :-)

DSC_0130She also got some nice action shots. . .

Then we had to go to Walmart and Jaylyn said it just wasn’t right that I am making her go to Walmart on her birthday.  :-)  But, after Leighton saw lots of babies at Walmart, I told Jaylyn it was a perfect treat for her.  Leighton cracked us up after one baby. She said, “She sooo cute!”.

Then it was off to lunch with Daddy to Incredible Pizza.  (Selected by the sisters, of course)DSC_0140

Leighton enjoyed her food the most out of everyone.

DSC_0145Cram it in! (as usual)

DSC_0146And don’t miss what is on tv!

Then it was off to games.  It was a little sad to see how big she was acting.  She mimics and repeats everything her big sisters do and say.  So, Adley says, “I wanna do that” and . . . so does Leighton!  She seemed to know exactly what to do on everything.  They played lots of games and rode the horsie a LOT!

DSC_0148Am I supposed to like this?

DSC_0154Yes! This is fun!

DSC_0158I think I like this too.

Then what else can you do on a two-year-old birthday?  Lots of sister play time, dinner and time for birthday treat!

Jaylyn had a great idea to make cookie ice cream sandwiches.  Sounded good to me!

DSC_0174A little tricky getting the candles in.  :-)

DSC_0176As soon as we started singing, she started blowing out the candles!

DSC_0178This is fun!

DSC_0180I did it!

DSC_0182Time to eat!

DSC_0187Yummy!

DSC_0188Great idea Jaylyn.  :-)

DSC_0196Then . . . a present!

DSC_0200Her sisters were just as excited.

DSC_0203I love it!

DSC_0205I think she may have picked up a little dare-devil skills at the circus.

Happy Birthday, Leighton!

Trip to Champaign

Way back on Mother’s Day weekend, we went to visit TJ’s brother Brett and his fiance Rachel and meet her family.  Did I forget to mention that Brett is getting married???  :-)  September 3rd is the big day and Rachel is super sweet and already adored by her soon-to-be nieces.  Anyway, it was a perfect weekend. . . we met the family, saw her dress, played at the park on a beautiful day, swam at the hotel pool, visited Brett’s church again, more fun friend visits, and sweet mother’s day gifts.  And somehow this is the only picture I got of the whole weekend.

Pony Tail

I think I forgot to post this a while back.  Leighton’s hair has FINALLY grown enough to do little pony tails.  :-)  DSC_1458 Exciting news, huh?

Girls and Shoes

Leighton loves shoes.  Even when she was younger, she would be very particular about which shoes she wanted to wear.  I don’t think the other girls were quite that way quite so young.  And now, she has two older sisters shoes to wear around the house.  AND mommy’s or daddy’s.  Here are some pics from a day she was wearing my shoes.

DSC_1588One of her best cheesy faces.

DSC_1590Yet, another. . .

DSC_1594Are you still looking at me?

DSC_1595Yes, there you are!

China Orphans

I meant to post earlier that our cousins Shannon and Makenna are now in China working with a group called Visiting Orphans.  They are visiting orphanages and loving on those babies who wait for forever families.  They have collected lots of suitcases worth of donations and even get to take the orphanage directors shopping.  Organizations have even donated much needed medical supplies and specialty wheelchairs and cleft-lip bottles.  Amazing what they were able to take.  Some of our friends from church are also on the team along with others from other states.  Please pray for them because it sounds like things just are not going smoothly no matter what they do over there.  They have had a lot of trouble and hassles.  You can keep up with the team at

http://teamchenzhou.blogspot.com/  on the side bar, you can click on the team members pictures to view their personal blogs where they are also each updating as they get a chance.

Pray, pray, pray!  They just want to help these babies!
