Fun At the Drive-In!

We love the drive-in and the girls hadn’t been in a long time.  I don’t even know that they could remember it very well.  Toy Story 3 was playing (and the Karate Kid – but we didn’t make it that long.)

Silly shots

Here are a few random silly shots of the girls.  You have to love those fun days when you haven’t combed your hair, and sometimes you are still in your pj’s, or you are wearing a shirt and a diaper, and you just hang out and be silly.  :-)

Adley’s Art Work

Adley was being a bit creative a while back and was tracing her scissors.  (Normally, imagination is Jaylyn’s expertise, but Adley has some imagination bursts too.)  Then she decided to add eyes, color it in, add arms, legs and feet and call it “Adley Scissors”.  Then she did the same with her pencil.  They turned out pretty cute, I thought!DSC_2951

Introducing, Miss Adley Scissors.

DSC_2949Don’t you love the imagination of children?  :-)

Leighton’s Birthday Party

So many pictures to go through before I could post this!  Took me a while.

I had a lot of fun getting ready for Leighton’s “Sweet at One” party.  We had a wonderful time with our guests and missed some, of course.  It was definitely different having a summer party!

Here is some of the decorations and table of SWEETS!

DSC_2800About to start!

DSC_2789I meant to make some special Berry Pink Lemonade and didn’t think about how many lemons I would need.  So, I only had enough to make half of a pitcher (in the middle)!  Oh, well.  Good intentions, right?

DSC_2791The placemats on the table have pictures of her from her hospital picture through each month.  I have done that at each of the girls’ parties.

Leighton's sweets tableHere are shots of the sweets!  Chocolate chip cookie stuffed cupcakes, pink lemonade cupcakes, and Strawberry and Lemon Cream Cheese sandwiches.  Then my sweet mom made a nice light version of red velvet for us.  That goes well with some candy, suckers, colored marshmallows and lollipops!  Oh, and my favorite – pink oreo bon bons!  Thank you again to my assistant, Amber for being such a fine icing artist!  :-)

Here are some shots of the super SWEET Birthday Girl (sporting her “1” onesie from Shannon and her polka dot Tritzi) while enjoying her party and wonderful guests!

DSC_2793Lunch!  Thanks to my in laws for helping us with some yummy lunch and to my mom for the fruit fluff!

DSC_2821Why is everyone singing???

DSC_2824Did they just sing my name??

     DSC_2846Not too bad.

DSC_2850She was a bit dainty.

DSC_2848Hooray for balloons again.

P6194219Cake!

DSC_2864Peek-a-boo mommy!

DSC_2856She had two suckers on her cake.  They were much better than the cake.

DSC_2860One in the mouth and one in the hand.

P6194240Then came the presents!

P6194241She kept giving Uncle Dennis the eye the whole time.  So cute!  Maybe he was looking too closely at her new stuff!  Look out!

DSC_2902She really enjoyed each gift.

DSC_2882And at this age, they really get into the cards too!

DSC_2890Even the clothes!

DSC_2892And the books!

DSC_2896And the toys. . .

P6194263Okay, she loved it ALL!
