Champaign

A couple weekends ago, we went with Mark and Shannon (without any kids!) to see Brett and his girlfriend, Rachel, and to get some Christmas shopping finished. It snowed quite a bit just like the last trip we made with Mark and Shannon. Hmnmmm. . . . At least this time Shannon and I didn't embarrass anyone by wearing garbage bags on our feet and legs. Hee hee! We had a fun time and got a lot finished. Power shopping=Achey-legs! We also got to visit at Brett's church where he is serving and meet more of his friends. Awesome! Thank you grandparents! :-)

Tree Trimming

Just snagged a few photos of the girls decorating the tree.  They sat and waited for TJ to bring the stuff up from the basement again.  They anxiously waited for their own personal ornaments and ooohhhed and ahhhhed over all of them.  Leighton slept through it all and awoke to a beautifully decorated tree.  :-)She doesn’t really mess with it much.  Hooray!

DSC_0301Adley decorated the same couple branches for us.  :-)

DSC_0302The star!

DSC_0307Jaylyn had a shot at the star too.

DSC_0311Jaylyn enjoyed making it all perfect.

DSC_0310I think I’m awake – now what is going on.

DSC_0323After getting her partially changed, she began to explore the wonders of the tree.  Mostly she looks at the tree and says “Ball!”

Some Thanksgiving Snapshots

We were with TJ’s side of the family for Thanksgiving this year.  Always a fun time with this precious family!  I didn’t get to focus too much on taking pictures this day.  So, these are just some random snap shots of family members while stuffing their face.  Apologies to all whose stuffing faces I am about to post.  Hee hee!

DSC_0291The boy room – with tv of course.

DSC_0292Some more lovely family eating.  :-) DSC_0293

Adley heading down stairs

DSC_0294I can’t call this one a kids table because there are TEENAGERS there!  When did that happen?  :-)

DSC_0295aMalaine and friend, Alex.  The only picture I got of her and her eyes are closed.  :-)

DSC_0295bMavery and Adley.  I realized that the population of this room for part of the day was around 60% Chinese.  :-)

DSC_0297Leighton – Just noticed that the only color food on her tray is yellow or orange.  :-)  I promise I gave her some green items too.  Hee hee!

DSC_0299Leighton and friend, Luke.  Who is in control of this vehicle?  :-)

DSC_0298Some of more of the gals.   Sorry – more closed eyes and stuffing face.

Thanksgiving 2010 018And then we all decided to cram in for a picture!

It was a great tukey day!

Fall Leaf Fun

Maybe I will get all these fall pics posted before Christmas.  :-)

This was on one of the nicer days in the midst of the cold.  The girls always love playing in leaves and they enjoyed introducing Leighton to the fun.

Ballet and the “Ingrums”

Adley took ballet at the homeschool group classes this year.  She had a lot of fun!  Here are some shots from their last day.

DSC_0153Their teacher had them go into the center of the circle and do their favorite ballet move.  Adley did quite a twirl!

DSC_0163Also, here is Adley in her Indian vest and head gear from preschool.  I thought it was so funny that she told me they had been studying about the indians and the “ingrums”.  (The Ingrums are actually a family that are friends of ours serving as missionaries in Peru.  Hee hee!)

A little late-but here is Adley's video. We love you, Adley!

Adley is Four!

(I’m usually a little better about getting these posts up on their birthday – oops!) November 17th, 2006 we were blessed with a sweet “not little” baby – Adley. I still remember thinking she just felt so heavy. Hee hee! You wouldn’t believe that now, of course. Adley usually has a good attitude about things, answering my questions with a happy “Sure!”. She will keep working hard on things until she gets it. She is the one who enjoys helping me around the house the most. She has a sweet spirit and is ALWAYS making me laugh. Oh, and her laugh. It is contagious!

She awoke on her birthday with Jaylyn leading her along. Down to the kitchen to open the “present” Jaylyn had for her. DSC_0094I like this picture. Jaylyn, so excited for Adley and Adley SO interested in what Jaylyn had for her.

DSC_0097Jaylyn had found some of her toys that she knew Adley would enjoy. A pink recorder, some Bendaroos and another drawing thing.

DSC_0098Then, in a miracle only from the Lord (Ha!), we were all dressed and ready for preschool early! So, Adley opened her presents!

DSC_0101Our main present to BOTH girls is a newly decorated room since it still has Jaylyn’s nursery decor in there. :-) I am currently in the midst of trying to finish that task. But, we did have a few things for her to open, AND we did let Jaylyn open something and we will let Adley do the same on Jaylyn’s birthday. Can you guess the theme?

DSC_0102The main reason we let Jaylyn open something is because we got them both a desk and knew that it would be complete torture for us to hear Jaylyn’s whining about not having her desk yet. :-) Once the room is finished, the desks are going up there.

DSC_0104Later in the afternoon, Jaylyn helped lead the way again and said we needed to do the cupcakes. Adley had requested strawberry cake and strawberry icing. I made cupcakes this time and they had the joy of decorating their own!

DSC_0106Oh, how many sprinkles can you fit on a cupcake? LOTS!

DSC_0110Make a wish!

DSC_0111Hooray for cupcakes and birthdays!

DSC_0112Don’t forget to lick all of the sticks and candles!

DSC_0113Then off to Incredible Pizza! (also probably suggested for Adley to pick by Jaylyn.)

DSC_0115Adley hit it big on the big wheel. She hit 250 tickets. Here they are still coming out! She also hit 100 free tickets when they let her spin the birthday wheel!

DSC_0121Ride’em cowgirl!

DSC_0127She decided to be silly and jump with Leighton after all that birthday fun!

DSC_0131While even sharing her prize from Incredible pizza – the frog around Leighton’s neck.

DSC_0135DSC_0136Here the girls are enjoying their new desks the next morning. They have certainly been enjoying those!
