Olympics

Here are a few pictures I took of the girls having their own “olympics” after doing some Ancient Greece studies.  (Don’t let these pictures fool you.  We are not always fun and games.  :-)  I’m certainly not going to post the pictures of the grumpy math lesson and the erasing and re-doing of the handwriting assignments.  Hee hee!)

DSC_1038Our opening ceremony included a parade of their olympic flags.

DSC_1035Leighton wanted to get in on the action.  She was disqualified for improper technique.

DSC_1040What is an olympic event without a “balloon between the legs” relay?  :-)

DSC_1045Medal Ceremony.  They received their paper medals and they even got up on the “platform”.  We played the national anthem on Youtube.  Once again, Leighton could not be left out.

It was a good time. . . . if only all of homeschool was this enjoyable.  :-)

Did you Know?

We have a trench in our front yard again. . .

Leighton has a fever again. . .

But, we had some peanut butter cookies. . .

And the girls and I have giggled a lot . . .

And the sun is shining. . .

And God is good no matter what.

Have a great weekend.

(To those grandparent types curious about the fever: her ears are fine this time.  It is another one of those virus things that have her throat all sore and nasty.  Poor girl.  This is at least the third throat virus since December plus the ear infections.  We may need to attempt to wean her from her thumb???)

Josiah’s Monkey Joe Birthday

We got to celebrate with our friends on their son’s birthday.  Monkey Joe’s was the perfect place for a newly four-year old to celebrate. :-)

Chinese New Year

We had the annual family party for Chinese New Year.  It is always great to celebrate these Chinese beauties that have become family and friends.  God has blessed us with these precious gifts from afar.

DSC_0935FYI – I am not Chinese. . .

DSC_0936But, I love their dresses and squeaky shoes!  :-)

DSC_0939Sweet Haddie!

DSC_0941Sweet Eden!

DSC_0943Sweet Mavery!

Those were the three that kept wanting me to take their picture!  They were having fun posing!

Bed Time Prayers

Leighton likes to join in on our prayer times.  Just thought I would get a little video of her joining us.  Jaylyn thinks this video is adorable and insists on making Leighton re-inact the prayer over and over.  So, I figured I would share it with you.  :-)

The Biggest Snowman Ever!

Well, at least Jaylyn thought it was the biggest snowman ever.  :-)  Of course, it is the biggest snowman that they have made!

DSC_0921The snowman needs accessories!

(TJ was so sweet to pose with his lovely hat hair so the snowman could have a hat.  Ha!)

DSC_0923All finished!  Mittens and everything!DSC_0922Snowman!  Good job!  I love it!
