Flashback: Commissioned

We were excited to venture to Tennessee to see our sweet friends at their commissioning service.

DSC_0004I also got to see my old friend, Amy-Jo and her cute new baby!  She works at the church where the service was.

Flashback: B-I-B-L-E!

Here is another flashback . . . This one is to Mother’s Day.  Our church will present Bibles to the kiddos who have turned five that year.  This year was Adley’s turn!  I was in the hospital after having Leighton when it was Jaylyn’s turn, so it was nice to be there for this one at least.  :-)

 DSC_0877Super excited!

Flashback: Adley’s Preschool Graduation

It is always fun to see the kids show off at their graduation.  Adley had a great time the last two years at Zion with Ms. Sheila!  Here are some shots from the graduation.

Flashback: Leighton’s birthday party

Abby Cadabby Time!  (The celebration was a little late.  Our original party date turned out to be the day we had to move our of our house, so it got pushed back by a little over a month.  Who doesn’t like to make your birthday celebrating last a little while longer?)DSC_0217

Leighton wanted to have an Abby Cadabby Birthday party.  She even got to dress Abby Cadabby style which she LOVED.

DSC_0222  Some Abby Cadabby decor.

We didn’t have many decorations up since we just moved in, so Abby Cadabby helped.  :-)     DSC_0225  We had Abby Cadabby style cupcakes, cotton candy, pink marshmallows,

Adley got glasses!

Turns out Adley has extreme far-sightedness.  With far-sightedness, children can accommodate their eyes to see without realizing they have sight issues.  Apparently Adley has done well at accommodating.  We just noticed her squinting more this last year so we took her in to get an eye exam.  Results showed she was 20/25 until they did the dilating.  That is where they saw her far-sighted issue.  She was soooooo excited to get glasses and has done great with them.  I think she is pretty cute.  :-)

Flashback: Fine Arts Camp

Our church did their first Fine Arts Camp this summer and Jaylyn was old enough to participate.  It was right up her alley!  She loves to be creative.  They had opening sessions involving songs and devotions and a highlight of different types of artists who use their talents to serve God.  Then they broke up into classes.  Each had signed up for three different classes.  Jaylyn's classes were: cooking, painting, and sewing. They had great class options for the kids.  Here are pictures from the showcase night.
In cooking class, they learned different things about measurement, cutting, and other cooking skills.  They also made trail mix, fruit kabobs, fruit dip, and cowboy cookies. Jaylyn loved it!

In painting, they learned about colors and mixing colors.  They also did a self-portrait.  Here is Jaylyn's paintings on the gallery wall.  She said this class was her favorite.

Jaylyn was so excited to do the sewing class.  They did hand sewing, but also got to sew on sewing machines.  They made quilt squares and their own pillow.  So fun!

Surprise!

Hey look! I'm posting something!!  :-)

Here are some shots flashing back to Leighton's third birthday in June.

Nothing like morning hair, packing up a house, carpet stains, and red eyes to make a pretty picture.  I'm not at my home computer to work on editing.  But, hey, I'm posting something!  Ha!
Birthday girl with Daddy and sisters

Leighton is full of energy and silliness.  There is a lot of giggling in our house because of her.  She is also a super duper snuggler.  We are all blessed to have Leighton!  Happy third birthday, Leighton!
