Glorious Day!

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
(Words from "In Christ Alone" by Keith Getty and Stuart Townsend)

Thank you, Lord, for that glorious day!

Here are a few pictures from our Easter day. It was the year to visit with my side of the family.

EGG!

We were able to fit in some egg decorating after we made it to my mom and dad's house the day before Easter. Jaylyn is always looking forward to decorating eggs. Adley apparently also enjoys decorating eggs, or should I say, throwing eggs into the cup of dye while shouting, "EGG!". We had to try and hold her hand the whole time, otherwise Grandma's kitchen, and our clothes would be splattered with egg dye. It was a good time had by all. :)

What color should I do now?

Easter Baby!

Our family had an exciting Easter celebrating the resurrected life of Christ and the new life of Baby Mylee Tanner! She was born while we were at church. Later, I was able to see her through the hospital nursery window, but I will have to borrow someone's picture of her because I don't have one. She is absolutely beautiful! I know big sister Hailee is proud. Coming soon. . .Baby Eli! (and more Easter pictures)

Bundle Up!

Our church held our first annual kid's Easter egg hunt. Jenny, our new children's director, put it all together and it was a lot of fun. It was FREEZING, but fun. There was still a good turnout despite the frigid temperature. It certainly didn't look like an Easter event with everyone in hats, gloves, scarves, etc. The girls really enjoyed themselves and both of them even won an attendance prize. There were TONS of eggs so all the kids had plenty to find and take home.

Our children's director, Jenny, giving a "quick" Easter story in the frigid weather.

Jaylyn and Malaine ready to hunt.

Adley was ready to go - "EGG! EGG! EGG!"

They had to take one of her gloves off so she could pick up the eggs. She may have bundled a little too tightly for proper egg hunting.

Look at all my eggs!

Preschool Easter Egg Hunt

Last week, Jaylyn's class had an Easter egg hunt. I was able to get there early enough to get some pictures of them having fun.

The class before the hunt begins. . .

And they're off . . .

Oh, where could those eggs be?

Let's check over there!

Let's see what is inside these eggs.

They put an egg out for Adley to "find".

"Ewww. . . grass."

"Num! Num!"

TEETH!

Adley loves to brush her 6 teeth. :) She reaches for her toothbrush and says, "Teeth! Teeth!" almost every time we are in the bathroom. So, as the girls were having their turn brushing their own teeth before mommy got a hold of them, I had to take this picture.

Snowy Fun in Louisville

A couple weekends ago T.J., Mark & Shannon and I visited Shane and friends in Louisville. Of course this was the weekend that Louisville received 10+ inches of snow. Once we got a couple hours from home, the snow started. Our driving became slower and scarier as we drove closer to Louisville. Of course, on the phone Shane kept saying, "It's not that bad!" Of course, he was not in the car with us. So, we had to take pictures. They still don't give a good enough picture of our crazy drive.
But, we made it safely, and even though most of Lousiville was shutting down, we were able to find some places to eat and enjoy our friends at seminary. Eva even made us an absolutely DELICIOUS cake! Here is lunch at their cafeteria on Saturday. They had their grill open for a while.

Then, next came playing in the snow. We were not prepared for this. Hee hee! We didn't really have extra clothes or shoes that should be worn in the snow. But, we couldn't let our friends down. So, to entertain our friend Esther, Shannon and I decided to make fools of ourselves and cover our bodies in garbage bags from our hotel room.

Pretty, huh? We had a good time having a snow ball fight. I stayed clear of Shannon and Esther because they were the biggest targets. Ha! The picture below is Thei Thei and I making a plan of attack.

We were also able to make it out to do some other fun things. The boys went to the movies and the girls went shopping. We also ate at a nice tourist place for supper. They had some fun and eccentric items in their gift shop as you can see from our lovely photo below.

So, a good time! Hopefully next time we will not bring more snow.

Adley is in to C.S. Lewis

Adley likes books and usually she will find one or two books that she really seems to like. She will carry it around and "read" it and ask you to read it. Lately, she keeps grabbing one of the books from the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. She has good taste it seems!
