Trunk or Treat
Well, going back to the end of October. . . our church had our annual Trunk-or-Treat. And as previous years past, our family picked a theme for our trunks and coordinated costumes. This year was the “Wizard of Oz”. It turned out to be a pretty fun theme. I think thanks goes to Makenna for the idea. :-)
Mark and Shannon did the tornado and the house landing on the witch. Pretty funny! Their tornado even turned. Nice!
Then Terry and Debbie had Munchkin Land. Very cute!
Diana and Larry had the Emerald City. I thought it looked pretty neat!
And then we did the hot air balloon when the Wizard tried to take Dorothy home. Let’s just say that it didn’t quite turn out as I envisioned it. The parachute I wanted to use didn’t work, then I quickly constructed a large tissue paper hot air balloon that ripped apart shortly before leaving for the church. I just glued it to a board and we stuck it up there and did our best to inflate it with the fan. :-)
Here is Jaylyn as the Tin “Girl” and Malaine as the Scarecrow. Very cute!
I made Sawyer (The Wizard!) get in the balloon basket for a picture!
Then I made a girl from our church dressed up as Dorothy get in for a photo too! :-) Somehow I didn’t get Makenna as Dorothy!
Leighton was the Lion – wearing her badge of courage. We had to stick her in a friend’s trunk for a while because she also fit her jungle theme. :-)
I stole these next few pics. . .
Ok, so here I am as a rainbow. Pretty, huh? I was going to post the one with me and Shannon (who was Auntie Em), but her eyes were bugging out and I didn’t want to get in trouble again. :-)

Preschool Fall Party
Here are some pics from Adley’s fall party they had at her preschool. The kids came to school dressed in costumes and then had a time of games, crafts and snacks. They were all pretty cute. We didn’t get a group picture this time.
Yummy cupcakes!
Ready for a game
Craft time
Pin the nose on the pumpkin. She walked to the door and then felt with her hand all the way over to the pumpkin. :-)
There was even time to give a little sister a hug. :-)

Play Time!
Leighton sure is growing. Next week she will be 17 months. She has quite a personality and picks up a lot from these big sisters. Here are some recent play time shots . . .
If there is a box available, that is a great play time location.
Then there is always silly time with sisters. Let’s pretend to go night-night!
Oh, how she loves to play with babies. Put them to bed, feed them, hug them, push them in a stroller, you name it!
And then there is the favorite – shoes!!! How she loves shoes. (This is a nice look, huh?) Sometimes she even wants to wear them while napping. She often has a preference for which of her shoes she wants to wear! (Already???? Ugh!) And then, wearing mom, dad or sister’s shoes – fun fun!

Pumpkin Picking Day Two
This was Adley’s preschool field trip to the big Millstadt Eckerts Farm. There is a lot of fun things to do there, but also a bit more price than the cute little farm from the day before. And it was quite a bit cooler on this day.
A fun ride in the wagon
Whee!
She wouldn’t let me help. She had to find the best pumpkin all on her own! (It took a while! The farm people were telling us to hurry up!)
Dirt is more fun than pumpkins!
Adley’s class
She even wanted to feed the animals.
Watching a show – and I might add they actually made it RAIN on us. We got wet! :-)
Pumpkin Picking Day One
We had two pumpkin picking outings two days in a row. Both were super fun and quite the opposite as far as temperature goes. I couldn’t believe we were sweating on this day. I don’t think I remember sweating while picking pumpkins. :-)
This was a MOPS outing at a cute farm in Red Bud. They have fun playground equipment for the kids and lots of fun pumpkins to buy. (Pretty great prices I might add!)
Whose flying this plane??
Digging in some corn
Look out! Helicopter taking off!
Look what I picked! A woodchip!

Firehouse
A few weeks ago, Adley had her first preschool field trip to the fire station. It involved a short little walk from their school, listening to the firemen share about fire safety, watching as the fireman put on all his gear, and then time for exploring the fire truck! Woohoo!
Buddy up and head for the truck!
How many preschoolers can fit in a fire truck??

Baking and Learning
We have been learning a bit about some of the Jewish Holidays in history lessons. I knew the girls would love trying out some Jewish Challah bread. It was hard for them to let it sit and rise a couple times. :-) Who wants to wait???
Usually Jaylyn gives up quickly because the dough gets too hard and her arms get tired. But, this time, she was motivated to go all the way!
They each braided their own loaf.
It turned out delicious!
