Precisely Folded Socks

Ok, so maybe I'm starting to get a little worried about Adley's overly-orderliness. :) I really wish I would have gotten a picture of her meticulously folding each sock for me as we were sorting laundry. If she spotted one she hadn't folded yet, she would say, "Oh! I have to fold that one!". She has been really excited about helping me with ALL household chores. Putting clothes in the washer and dryer, putting away dishes from the dishwasher, folding clothes, cleaning up toys, etc. Now, many kids might find some sort of enjoyment from these things when first introduced. But, there seems to be an extra amount of personal enjoyment that Adley experiences when helping in this area. She yells at me if I leave a cabinet door open or goes and closes it herself. While Jaylyn was in the bathroom having a nice long "conversation" about her UNwillingness to help clean up her toys, we came out to find that Adley had cleaned up ALL toys in the living room already and was headed to the toy room to keep going. She usually comes running from her tasks asking, "What else!?" Jaylyn and I also laughed the other day when she yelled at Jaylyn who was getting her Barbies out to play with. "I already cleaned those up!" Hee hee! Need some crumbs swept up? Adley is your gal! Have some yucky crusty pieces of homemade (by Megan) playdough stuck in your carpet? Adley will find it and lay down on the floor and pick all of it out for you! She is very particular about many things. At bed time, she usually requires that the blanket on her is straight across and not crumpled up. Sometimes we get away with a non-straight blanket, but the other day (crabby Adley day) she was not excited about how I left the blanket on her. She cried that I "missed". So, I straightened out one side and she apparantely wanted BOTH sides straightened out. :) She brought it up today to my mom and dad. "Mommy missed! My blanket!". Adley, please forgive your non-orderly mother! Ha! So, I am enjoying my one child who will help me keep life orderly while also watching that she gets good doses of opened cabinets and crumpled blankets! I am good at that!

Be My Valentine

Jaylyn has been counting down to Valentine's Day since she realized that Christmas was over. And now, at the end of Valentine's Day, she was already asking if Easter was next and if it was the day after tomorrow? And how come Valentine's Day was over so fast when Christmas goes on so long! So many questions. Here are some more random Valentine pics. I didn't get any of Jaylyn's preschool party because they just did a simple party with no parents. But, she definitely came home with a treat bag full as if it was Christmas or something. They had made Valentine's card holders at school, but they all got too much stuff for their holder and had to carry it all home in Walmart sacks. :)

Here are the girls creating their Valentine cards. Adley had to color too!

Here is one of Jaylyn's flower card designs. I don't think I have a picture of her finished product. We stole the idea, of course. But she decorated flowers and then we stuck a sucker through the middle and she wrote her name on a leaf we taped to the stick. She loved making these Valentine's. Each one was it's own unique design.

Here we are at Red Robin on Valentine's Day. It has become a tradition. This is our third year. Yum, nothing like a Whisky River BBQ Burger!

My special Valentine Girls

Silly Valentine Grin

Here is Jaylyn today playing with her Valentine present. We don't really get them anything for Valentine's Day but a little candy and maybe a little something else. So, this year I got her a pack of paper. :) Does that sound pathetic? Not if you saw how much she loves her pack of paper and uses it all day every day! She has been taking my paper faster than anything, so now she has her own. She could easily use it all up in a week at the rate she is going. She has made me many picture frames, pictures, puzzles and lots of stuff. She has written many notes for Adley and even shares her paper with Adley. They are having lots of fun. Adley got some monkey scissors. They are cute! But, she hasn't quite got the hang of cutting yet. :) Soon, I'm sure she will be cutting things she is not supposed to cut.

TJ got me a super cute heart keychain that has 3 little girls inside. Their birthstones are on their belly. So cute! Thank you!

Hope you all had a happy Valentine's Day!

Random Pics

As the title says, these are just random pics. The girls are always asking me to take a picture of them doing everything. So, here is the picture I "had" to take of their block design.

I don't know what this picture was taken for, but she is certainly looking lovely, isn't she. :)

Here are poses with their new sunglasses. . .

Stylin'

Jaylyn had to pose with her bear and computer.

Here you can see one of her new birthday outfits from Aunt Di Di that Jaylyn has been dying to wear. As you can also see, she prefers to wear two different color socks. Yes, on purpose. And yes, we went to Walmart like this.

My glasses are Dora!

Let's pose together now!

Praying For Animals and Tee-Ball

No, I have not turned animal lover. :) But, yes, we are still zoo lovers and went (along with LOTS of other people) to the zoo on Saturday when the weather turned nice. But, ever since then, Adley has been wanting to add all of the animals we saw at the zoo in her bedtime prayers. It is too cute! I managed to go the whole day without taking any pictures though. Bummer!

We also signed Jaylyn up for tee-ball. Woohoo! We will see how that goes. She seems excited at the moment. Although, I was a little worried that we wouldn't get her in the door to sign up because I had read that Izzy the Grizzly, the mascot for the Grizzlies would be there. Ugh! I know it is a small room where they have the sign ups so I began to prepare my anti-character daughter for this experience. At first, she was not signing up. She wanted to just play tennis. :) That is pretty smart actually. I don't think I have ever seen any mascots/characters at a tennis match. Ha! Then, she finally decided if she could stay right by me she would go. I'm just picturing our first appearance among the other tee-ball families - our screaming daughter freaked out by a mascot. Well, the Lord heard my prayers and Izzy was not there. I'm sure she wouldn't have screamed, but they all probably would have seen how she can climb to the top of my head in .2 seconds. Ha! Thankfully they will all have to wait to see that one.

Pronunciation

For those of you that are having a little trouble with our baby name choice, here is a little help. :) It is pronounced Lay-ton.

Announcing. . .

Well, I think we have finally settled on a baby name! It is certainly not an easy task, and I'm sure there will be those who still don't like our choice, but that is fine. We really tried to like some girly names for our girls, but for some reason, we are drawn to the more unisex/boy names. But, we asked Jaylyn and Adley if they liked their name and they both said, "Yes". So, we are at least two for two. Ha!! Ha! Anyway, our June baby girl will be . . .

Snow Day

I was really wishing TJ was home, but unfortunately he was not. So, I bundled the girls up and let them head out to enjoy the snow. I mostly stayed inside the back door watching. :) They loved every minute of it. Of course, I had to go out to fix some gloves and push Adley in the swing!
Here they are ready to go! I'm not sure why they are squatting. Ha!

Adley was trying to decide how to get started in this snow.

Jaylyn was loving it.

They wanted to dig.

And swing!

And slide!

And then have hot cocoa of course! Jaylyn has never liked it, but desperately wants to. So, she begged for some and did drink a little and didn't complain. I still don't think she liked it.

Adley drank some too, but not very much. But, they really loved having it. :) I think this was when she was eating some left over lunch.

The Laxtons

We have a cooler for drinks and snacks at the hospital for Mark and Shannon. If anyone is interested in taking them a lunch or dinner, let me know. I will try to help coordinate. I'm sure hospital food will get old quickly! :)

She is out and doing okay

Shannon is now with Mavery. She will still need prayer for a quick recovery.
