Camp

Our church took kids to a children’s camp put on by Lifeway this summer.  It was held at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO.  I got to be a chaperone and go with Jaylyn for her first year at camp!  Mitzi was sweet enough to watch the girls when TJ was at work while I was gone.  Several of Jaylyn’s friends came too.  Some parts of it were rough for the younger ones, but I know they had a lot of fun too.  It was a huge group of children – Around 750 attended that week!

Here are some pics!

(Not sure how Jaylyn avoided being in most of these pictures!)  One of the other adults took a lot of pictures and I still need to get a disk of his pictures.  Once I get those I can post more.)

Back in February, Jaylyn had her friend birthday party.  (Yes, her birthday is in December. . . )  Anyway, she decided on an indoor camping party.  It was lots of fun!  I didn’t get the greatest pictures, but here are some.

Awana Commencement 2013

Awana has come to an end again.  It was Leighton’s first year, so all three had a great time learning about the Bible.

Adley’s Sleepover

Adley got to have her cousins over for their first sleepover together!  We had lots of fun with Sage and Mavery!  Jaylyn followed after her sweet cousin Makenna’s footsteps and made a special spa for them.  They had fun, fun, fun!

Flashback: Jaylyn’s Baptism

Back in October, we were able to celebrate a very special day.  There is nothing more exciting than seeing God’s saving grace at work in the life of your child.  Jaylyn really had started this journey back when she was five.  We had lots of conversations about sin and our need for a Savior.  One conversation with TJ was where God really began working personally in her heart.  She knew she needed God’s forgiveness and prayed that He would give her a new life in Christ.  Since she was only five, we continued to pray and discuss and guide and teach her about salvation.  After some maturing and seeing some friends baptized, Jaylyn finally said that she wanted to be baptized too, to show what God had done in her life.  Our great friend, Travis, was able to baptize her and we had a great celebration day!
