Goodbye Mountains

They are hard to see, but those are the mountains in the rear view mirror as we are leaving.

The girls had fun, but seemed ready to get home. Although, TJ and I are not sure that we are ready to be home yet. It was a very full week of lots of fun. We will definitely be coming back. TJ says we need to come back for a family white-water rafting trip. I told him I wasn’t sure how many family members would be up for that, but probably a few! Our Sunday School friends were giving us a hard time about taking all three little girls on a vacation like this, especially after just having Leighton. But, God was really with us and everything went amazingly smooth. They had minimal whining considering all the physical activity we were doing and NO NAPS at all! The car rides to and back have really been pretty good too. They were all a little more fussy on the way home, but they were really tired. I don't blame them.

Here are some other vacation memories:

  • I enjoyed Adley's songs about things that we were doing like, "We are walking up a hill. . ."
  • I did NOT pack enough diapers and wipes to keep up with Leighton. Either the altitude really has an affect on her, or she was REALLY relaxed on vacation. :)
  • Colorado has HORRIBLE stop lights.
  • We think Denver definitely needs another main interstate. CRAZY!
  • The hotel clothes dryers are NOT very effective in drying your clothes.
  • Colorado is VERY pet friendly.
  • We are spoiled with all of the fun FREE stuff to do in St. Louis.

1Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3For the LORD is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
4In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
5The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
6
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
7For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.

Is that final picture one of Cheesman Reservoir? It definitely looks like it could be. Cheesman Reservoir is very close to the ranch where I worked in college.

Totally agree with your thought on hotel dryers!

I actually have no idea if it is or not. :) It is one of the pictures TJ took up on their trip up Pike's Peak. So, maybe???? What did you do at a ranch in Colorado?

You are so blessed to have such a cooperative family. Josiah could not have handeled no napping.

Amy, Welcome home! You did such a great job of sharing your vacation with the rest of it. Every night last week, I was eager to log on to see what you did that day. I almost felt like I was along, and I sure do love Colorado. Judy

Oops! I meant to say you shared your vacation with the rest of US. Maybe I need to go on vacation myself, instead of living it vicariously. Judy
