T.J.'s been busy
T.J. has been up to a lot lately. Besides still working on scrubbing the dried up detergent crud on our dishwasher parts, he has been able to take advantage of his job's work-from-home one day a week deal. He has also started a project that has been long awaited (or dreaded, I should say). Our front living room walls have needed scraped/stripped and painted since we have purchased the house. (Let's just say that is ONE of the many needed projects still left. Heehee!) Well, we finally decided to just jump in and do it. So, we have (or mostly T.J has) stripped all of the layers of wallpaper and paint off the walls AND ceiling (yes wallpaper on the ceiling with paint over it) in one of the rooms. His dad was able to get in on the scraping for a little while one day. Now he has one coat of primer on all of it. And in the midst of all that, he was also ordained as a deacon at our church a little over a week ago. That process began about two years ago, I think. As our church has been growing, there was a need for a larger deacon body to help in service to the church body and pastors. Through a process led by the deacon body, much prayer, by many, and a year of training, God led 6 men to serve our church as deacons. I know T.J. humbly takes on this new role because of his love for God and his love for our church family and pastoral staff. He has a great desire to follow God and serve Him in whatever way he can. I am thankful for a husband like him.
